Curtis Flowers
Curtis Flowers was imprisoned in Mississippi for over 22 years, and released in late 2019 following the U.S. Supreme Court's decision to throw out the remaining convictions against Flowers in a quadruple murder case. Flowers had been tried six times for murder he allegedly committed on July 16, 1996 and was held on death row at Parchman at the Mississippi State Penitentiary.
With the assistance of Roc Nation, the NFL included Curtis Flowers in the Inspire Change program honoring systemic racism, victims of police misconduct and social justice heroes. Roc Nation and Team Roc conducted research on numerous cases related to social justice, providing the names of victims and coordinating with them for the program.
