Chadarion Henderson
In August 2021, Chadarion Henderson was found dead at the Mississippi State Penitentiary, also known as Parchman Farm. Henderson had appeared to have taken his own life, after stating to his mother that he "feared for his life," while being held at Parchman. Henderson was dead less than two weeks after arriving at the prison. When the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation began conducting an investigation into Henderson's death, Roc Nation and Team Roc paid for an independent autopsy of Henderson. Additionally, Yo Gotti (Roc Nation Client) covered the cost for his funeral. “Chadarion Henderson’s unexplained death inside Parchman is the latest example of how that prison continues to fail to protect its incarcerated population,” said Yo Gotti. Following his death, Roc Nation and Team Roc filed legal documents, calling out the inhumane conditions and poor treatment at Parchman. The advocacy for individuals being held at Parchman also contributed to the A&E documentary, Exposing Parchman, produced by Roc Nation alongside Good Caper Content, and Red Summer.
