Botham Jean
On September 6, 2018, Botham Jean was murdered by off-duty Dallas police officer, Amber Guyger. Guyger had entered Jean's apartment, believing it was her own and suspecting Jean as an intruder. Amber Guyger was found guilty of murder on October 1, 2019 and sentenced to 10 years in prison.
As a part of the #EveryonesChild campaign, Roc Nation and Team Roc co-produced a PSA alongside the NFL, and the Botham Jean Foundation in honor of Jean and his life. The piece includes narration by his family, including his parents and siblings, all describing the urgent need to create change in order to eliminate future senseless murders of Black people. The PSA was released on social media on January 22, 2020.
